Laser Hair Removal in Red Bank, NJ
Gentlemax Pro Laser Hair Removal – A Laser For Everyone
Synergy Wellness and MediSpa, Laser Hair Removal in Red Bank, NJ, knows how important hair removal is to our clients. We offer a variety of ways to remove unwanted hair. During your initial consultation, our health care providers will listen to your hair removal goals in order to determine whether the Gentlemax Pro Laser Hair Removal in Red Bank, NJ,
is the best fit for your hair reduction needs.
How Many Treatments?
Our highly trained health care providers may recommend multiple treatment sessions for most patients. Several treatments received 4-6 weeks apart from each other may be necessary to achieve long-term hair reduction.
During Treatment
During the session, a small handpiece is used to deliver an intense beam of light, which is then converted to heat and absorbed by the targeted cells. The GentleMax Pro laser system also involves a cooling spray that will usually avoid the need for topical anesthetic solutions. The larger spot size delivers high-speed treatment over a larger target area.
FAQ
Laser hair removal provides effective, tangible, and long-lasting results. Many people spend a long time considering laser hair removal before taking the plunge. For most, their biggest regret is not having made the decision earlier. Laser hair removal may seem costly at first, but once you break down the cost of other hair removal options, the value becomes obvious. Razors, shaving cream, wax strips, and depilatory creams aren’t cheap, and those expenses add up over time (not to mention the time you spend getting rid of body hair).
At Synergy Wellness & MediSpa, clients have access to cutting-edge aesthetic technology. For laser hair removal, we use the Syneron Candela® GentleMax Pro – a powerful system that delivers impressive results.
The system uses dual wavelengths and combines a 755nm Alexandrite laser with a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser. That combination yields the fastest treatment times of any laser hair removal machine currently on the market. This combination also allows the system to treat all skin types whereas previous technology wasn’t beneficial for people with darker skin tones or with lighter hair colors.
For most men and women, having laser hair removal is a swift process with minimal discomfort.
During your appointment, you change into a treatment wrap to allow the provider access to the treatment area. If you prefer, you can use a numbing cream to lessen the sensation in that area before your appointment.
Your provider will then guide the laser’s wand over your skin. The laser pulses and sends a concentrated beam of light into each hair. The pigment in your hair then absorbs the heat from that light, which damages the follicle. This will slow down future hair growth, and any hair that does return is finer than before. Results vary from a few months to multiple years.
During the treatment, you feel the laser target each hair. Some people report a mild sensation of heat; others compare the feeling to being snapped with a rubber band. Subsequent sessions are more comfortable as there are fewer hairs left.
The number of sessions depends on the treatment you require and the condition of your skin. For hair removal, multiple treatments are required. Other conditions may clear up in only one treatment, but many factors impact the efficacy of treatments, including the severity of the condition being treated.
A cool compress or gel pack may be applied for comfort following your treatment. Any redness or swelling should resolve within a few hours.
Patients should avoid plucking, electrolysis or waxing for six weeks prior to treatment. If you have a history of herpes simplex virus, prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed. The skin should be clean-shaven and thoroughly cleansed, removing any makeup, creams, oils, topical anesthetics or self-tanning products before laser treatment. Do not expose the intended treatment area to sunlight or tanning booth light prior to or immediately after treatment. Apply sunblock (SPF 30 or above) before treatment.
After your laser treatment, prevent sun exposure by applying sunblock (SPF 30 or above). In the first few days after treatment, don’t scrub or rinse the treated areas with abrasive skin cleansers. We may also advise additional precautions.
Some patients may feel a slight discomfort with each laser pulse, sometimes described like the snapping of a rubber band on the skin. This discomfort resolves quickly and is minimized by the patented Dynamic Cooling Device’” (DCD”‘) or air cooling. For some patients, a topical anesthetic may be used prior to treatment. Be sure to discuss this with your provider.
Side effects are rare, and may include redness, swelling, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, blistering and purpura (a laser bruise) in the treated area. These usually do not last more than a few days. Be sure to discuss potential side effects with your provider.
Yes, it’s safe for all skin types including all Asians and African Americans.
Cost depends on the area being treated.
